Artist Statement : Paper as we know, it is a thin material produced by pressing moist fibres and cellulose pulp, drying it into flexible sheets. Paper is a versatile material with many uses such as writing, printing and packaging. Paper based packaging is design to be sturdy yet lightweight and ca be customized to customer specific needs, The character of paper itself has inspired me to explore more about the possibilities that clay could be the perfect medium to work together with paper. Paperclay is the technique that proves paper can be work with clay by mixing them together to get paper-looking ceramics. The idea to create paper-looking ceramics comeup with facts that paper is part of my daily life along with my willingness to reduce paper waste. Through my artwork, i want to people to be more aware with what they can found in their surroundings and make it usefull for themselves.
The exhibition last untill 25th April 2019 at Ganara Gallery , Kemang. I'm also here with three great ceramicist Nabila Ardhani, Yugie, and Della Dwiandra
